Where are the best places to go outdoors in the U.S.?

I am looking for help with suggestions of places to travel this coming spring and summer. I love outdoors and I'm not really interested in seeing the areas major cities. I also like to get away from crowds much as possible. I like to go backpacking, camping, canoeing, camping-car, etc. I'm also a bit limited in geographical regions (mainly from the west coast Rocky Mountain). Any height that works for me and most picturesque of the best! I thought of some ideas, but do not know if it would be my "cup of tea" due to the factors of the crowd: "Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon would like to know your favorite destination! I do not care how popular it is, only if you enjoyed it! Thanks, Devin

I agree with the first poster. Rocky Mt. The National Park is awesome …. pretty little town of Estes Park is the city that leads to the park. It's so beautiful up there. The entire state has some amazing things to see!
