I have a Flowerhorn with a small sac hanging out of his gill to the left from inside his body.?
I think the bag / pouch is fat deposits, however, I'm not sure. I fed him about 10-12 crickets that I got from the store. His current diet consists of pellets and shrimp frozen cut into pieces for him. Could it be that the crickets are naturally high in fat or protein that causes this to my Flowerhorn Fish? I checked on the right side gill too, and has a smaller bag a little bigger than a pea. But the left is to keep the gills were completely closed. It is like a flat-water in a pouch. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Levanto flowerhorns and have had several years of experience with them. I've never seen the bag "/" bag that you refer. Sounds like a tumor, but without a picture, nobody will be able to tell for sure. What do crickets have to do with it? Does this occur immediately after the feeding of cricket? Please update your question or send me an email and I'll see if I can help.
