short answer and concise, no. laptops and iPods do not produce good quality sound. Why? Because they are not designed to, in the same way that a player CD is not designed to be a computer or a mass storage device. If you want the sound quality, you need components specifically designed for it. The combination of Mission Denon you mention will blow any laptop or iPod in the bush, in terms of sound quality is concerned. Buy it and enjoy!
