Experience Canadian Fishing at a Canada Fishing Lodge
Have you ever seen one of those TV shows that show the fabulous fishing in Canada (Also known as the "Great White North) and wonders that can be true? Can you really be the big fish? Can the scenery so spectacular?
It's true!
From the eastern coast of the maritime provinces of the vast expanse of forest on the west coast off the coast of British Columbia Canada offers fishing is so abundant and unspoiled, that fishermen from around the world visit each year, and then return year after year.
All vessels Provinces offering that is unique to them, yet all are united by a common theme, And that's the great expanses of lakes and rivers almost unknown in the regions the north.
Look to the province of Ontario, 95% of its population resides in the lower regions that account for perhaps 10% of its land mass. What is in the other 90%?
Great Lakes, very clear, and rivers. Thousands of them! And all full of fish.
If you are looking for a weekend retreat which can be accessed with your family car or the trip of a lifetime, a visit to a remote lake accessible only by floatplane north, this province offers it all.
Compare this with the further expansion of Nunavut. Here is a territory that is almost entirely north of 60, and has almost all the regions inaccessible road. There is simply no!
But the fishing! Home to more IGFA records than any other fresh water region in the world!
Did you know you think the Northwest Territories is home to the largest body of fresh water 5 in the world?
Great Bear Lake is 500 kilometers north of Yellowknife and the closest permanent road is 300 miles away? Approximately 12,500 square miles of crystal clear water, which is under the ice for all but perhaps 100 days a year. Water so cold, the fish grow so slowly that it can be 60-80 years old.
Then consider this.
There is only one community in this lake. Perhaps 500 people, tops! Four Fishing Lodges, more than 280 miles of lake, between one and the closest I come! Free ice for a couple of months, these fishing lodges and only can work in the short two months a year. The total capacity between them is perhaps 160 fishermen at a time, spread over 12,500 square miles!
Also, consider Great Slave Lake. Located 300 miles south of Great Bear Lake, Great Slave Lake is almost as large a body of water, almost isolated, but has the convenience of a bustling border city type, located on its shores. Yellowknife, the capital of the territory is also the "center" of many remote lakes of northern and fishing lodges, and is served by a modern airport with regular flights and frequent daily connections to most cities in southern, northern or as they call it, "the exterior "
