Sealing The Deal: How Can You Get Him To Commit?

Are you looking for a few good techniques to help you seal the deal with your man?  Have you wondered time and again how you can get him to commit?  Are you frustrated because every time you bring up your future he clams up?  Use these three techniques to help you seal the deal.

Give Him Space

When you bring up commitment with a man it can strike fear deep inside of him making he feel like he is losing his freedom.  For many men committing to a woman makes them feel like they are being suffocated and they panic.  Most men enjoy their bachelor lifestyle and will resist changing that.

If you have just had a serious conversation about commitment with your man give him some more space than you usually do for a week or two.  If you really want to seal the deal, don’t bring the subject back up right away just because you didn’t like his response.  Spend more time with your friends.  Do whatever you can to allow him to process your conversation and tune into his feelings so that he doesn’t make a rash decision that you will both regret later.

Take Care of Yourself

While you are giving him space, take care of yourself.  Now is the time to really tune into who you are and what you want.  Have you started spending less and less time with your friends and doing the things you enjoy?  Get back to who you are while he is thinking about what he wants.

Taking care of yourself works in two ways.  First, the more time you spend on yourself the happier you are no matter what he decides and the less you will fear rejection.  Second, he will appreciate the space and have more time to miss you which will help him to realize he doesn’t want to lose you.

Give Him Tim

This may seem redundant after we talked about giving him space but in reality they are two different suggestions.  Giving him space is about spending less time physically with him.  Giving him time is referring to not bringing up the commitment talk while you two are together.

When you do have that commitment talk let him know that you know he will need time to think about it.  Rather than having him stress out about you bringing it up every time you two are together, let him know that you will drop the subject completely for 2 weeks so that you can just enjoy your time together.  This way he knows how you feel and that you do want to hear his thoughts about commitment but you are respecting his need to process his feelings.

Using these three tricks, you are well on your way to getting your man to seal the deal.  If he still doesn’t seem interested in committing to you, it may be time to move on.
