Replacement Bite

Replacement Bite
Surgery open bite and TMD!?!?

I have a slight open bite (otherwise it is almost perfect, so yay! XD) and DM. The DTM has been worrying to my right ATM for about three years. It is getting worse, but is no better, either. Unfortunately, it is starting to affect my left TMJ too. I have read that surgery to correct an open bite relieves pressure on the TMJ. That would be nice, but I am concerned that is too damaged cartilage and I need a partial joint replacement. Here are my questions: Does anyone out there have pictures / videos / animations open bite surgery (as well I know what to expect), and has anyone out there was a partial replacement of ATM and a detailed description of what this process is like? Thanks in advance!

good i do not really know what an open bite, but I know a little about the TMJ syndrome. I have it as did my sister. I have to correct equipment mine. changing my bite so my jaw is properly aligned and the cartilage will move correctly. my sister was much worse though. she had to have surgery for hers but she did not have to have any kind of replacement. titanium pins put in the cartilage in their joints to two keep it in place. also divides his hard mattress with a laser and gave an expansion of the platform. also wore braces and splints. of surgery were the last resort to her, but she finally was corrected TMD. I would like to talk to your dentist, orthodontist, and / or oral surgeon to know exactly what type of damage you have and what type of treatment is to be the best option.
