Program Objective
The Voluntary Society Nepal Volunteer Program aims to contribute to sustainable development of underdeveloped Nepalese communities, through projects for children, young and women. The programs are coordinated through rural schools and community-based government programs with community-based programs often begins with the help of VSN, volunteers and local community members.
The Volunteer Program achieves its objective to initiate and / or assist with the sustainable development of community-based project, focusing on increasing local awareness of major social issues such as education, health and sanitation and conservation.
The development process community is slow in Nepal, despite the efforts of government and rural NGOs. This fact makes the need even more motivated volunteers. Few people in Nepal have facilities basic sanitation, resulting in health problems broadly based, such as malnutrition and the spread of waterborne diseases. A team of Nepali development workers, social activists and ex-overseas volunteers founded Volunteer Society Nepal in 2004.From the early stages of development, VSN Nepal has been mobilizing international and local volunteers in various programs, providing relevant training and working experience in marginalized communities, and contributing to overall sustainable development efforts in Nepal.
