Pak System
Pak System
Do you think I should give Pak Lah the credit he deserves?
Pak Lah needs the credit it deserves. He is trying to modernize the establishment inactivated and corrupt of the past 22 years. His predecessor Iskandar Kutty Tun Mahathir has always been loyal to anyone but himself and his cronies, whose appetite for power at the expense of ordinary Malaysians welfare has never gone away. Lah Pah needs time to reform the judicial system, electoral system, press freedom and human rights. http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/8222/84/
Well Pak Lah has not made any large scale project and that is what is altering Mahatir. Large-scale projects is where it starts nepotism. Do not be fooled, when the Twin Towers was built, a huge amount of the contracts went to companies that were linked to Mahathir and his sons. Indeed, the land that the twin towers were built Ananda Krishnan was purchased from a close friend of Mahathir. Money from oil sales were diverted to making such purchases. There was no transparency as to why a company awarded a contract. Pak Lah canceled the second bridge to Singapore (which was Mahathir project before retiring) and has caused endless critism of Mahathir. A large amount of persons / companies lost sales when the bridge was not built. Pak Lah reasoning was that there was no budget for such large projects. All of these projects is great until you see the debt of that country fell in. Of course Mahathir blamed Soros (a Jew by the way) for the economic crisis. If you read the story, the decline started in Thailand Indonesia and then when it was learned that the governments of both countries (and companies) had large sums of money and the economy was as robust as everyone thought. That prompted foreign banks to review loans to foreign countries without invenstments, 10% were experiencing slow growth and cause panic. But it is easier to blame a Jewish (everyone knows they are the sworn enemy). Who knows, sometimes not over spending and budget wisely, that is more important to get into debt.
