good for school backpacks?

now I have a Messenger Bag that I use, and I hate it. that makes my shoulder hurt like hell because I have many books for me. and I have not used a real backpack, since like elementary school. I want one that is as a kind of Yak Pak, but different. This is gonna sound stupid but as a walking-ish style to it, I suppose? These are the most comfortable and spacious, I think. But I did not know what brands to consider. I do not want anything or what Jansport is, I hate backpacks.

Getting a backpack are fine and as recommended Northface and Kathmandu are a good starting point, but I do not dismiss the messengers complete lack of postural support. As long as you get a messenger bag with padded shoulder support you should be fine to carry heavier loads. I recommend give them a first down.
