Potential increase the speed 70 miles in two days?

I'm an experienced hiker and most of my past experience has been a pronounced rise profits with a package of 40 pounds. Now I plan to walk through a gradual 70-mile trail from last night (after work) until Sunday (afternoon. .. evenings) with a 3L reservoir bag, lightweight Sleeping Bag, compass, map, knife, Water Bottle and a spare or two. Water is available every 12 miles across trailhead sources so I will fill at every stop. This is semi-arid, mountain lion, rattlesnake country. I will walk alone. I guess 10-12 hours a day, tomorrow night in the 2.5 to 3 mph should do the trick, run on flat slopes and down. I have two concerns – 1. that an average of 3 mph can not be achieved and I miss you my truck, 2. the dawn to dusk hiking, perhaps at night (see # 1), puts an undue risk with an attack of puma or activity bells. Is this viable?

Very interesting, but in fact its kind in the form required for such a feat Go for it. Believe that the factor of speed is a little tuff to achieve however. I have in my youth trip down 25 miles in one day along the upper Kern total 127 miles in 1 week. I do not know what the record book for the distance one day, but a Marathon is 22 miles and even the best do it in a couple of hours. For security reasons you would get a better support team if you can reach people at forty miles checkpoints would be good. Use one GPS satellite tracking devices that sends a signal to your support team can track you. Good lighting is a necessity for the night and added a lot of weight. I have a drive that is incredibly bright on my Mountain Bike, but forms that at least a couple of pounds. Add a radio GM-RS with the greatest extent possible as well. I would not worry so much of creatures, never had a problem with them and from their rapid movement that will probably scare the crap out of them first.
