Why is there so much pink clothing around these days?

All I wanted was some new pyjamas but all I could find was pink! I hate pink and I am a long way from 3 years old so why do shops stock so much pink. I was also looking at cheap packs of underwear a every pack had a t least one pair in pink! Why is everything pink? I have a young granddaughter and i am almost forced to buy toys in pink for her and she does not want anything in pink either.
