Pack Pet Dog

Pack Pet Dog
My dog ate a gel pack out of a package of raw chicken, what I do, make you vomit?

I had gone for twenty minutes and when I get home he had broken through the garbage, and the gel pack is gone, and he was still licking his lips. I called the emergency line pets and they said they only make him vomit. What should I do?

Honestly, unless he is a very small dog, he will be fine. Can induce vomiting if you will, but soon. I teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide per ten pounds of body weight, he will vomit. Small amounts of silica gel are harmless though. He will only Sandy looking poop. ;) This is what ASPCA Poison Control has to say about the issue of silicone gel and dogs: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/ask-the-expert/ask-the-expert-poison- control / silica Gel.html Silica-Gel "If silica gel desiccant packages toxic to pets?" Cheryl S. Cheryl, silica gel is used to absorb moisture in many different products, and is usually packed in plastic bottles or paper packages. You've probably seen those little packets that say "desiccant-NO EAT! "In medicine, leather goods, vitamins and even some pasta products. The silica gel is used also for cats to absorb certain moisture. While we do not understand for the consumer, silica gel usually produces only mild stomach discomfort, which usually resolves with minimal or no treatment. If large quantities are eaten, however, as with the ingestion of multiple packets or mouthfuls of kitty litter, intestinal obstruction is possible, on especially in very young animals.
