Revs universal energy exploration in Tanzania
With the spot price of uranium up to $ 93/lb (again), and a shortage of sulfuric acid in Kazakhstan – the chemical necessary for the leaching process that isolates U3O8 from ore – likely to compound demand, all indication that uranium prices will climb sharply (again) in the coming months. And despite the recent seismic shifts for gold and precious metals, most analysts projects in bull markets for precious and base metals continue to snowball.
Universal Power Corp (TSX.V: Unx, FSE: 3U2A) aims to build a series of promising projects for the current market bull-load resources.
"I believe – and the company believes – that we are in the second inning of a global supercycle uranium fossil fuels, base metals and gold – and maybe silver, "says Barry Swanson, Director and CEO of Universal." We want to make sure we are diversified enough to play all those classes. "
Universal has three main objectives: In Tanzania, the Northwest Territories (Canada) and Ontario – which aim to increase shareholder value. The Tanzanian project Mbamba Bay recently announced some forward momentum.
Mbamba Tanzania Bay of properties to advance exploration
Tanzania has become increasingly attractive for mining exploration in recent years. A political climate copy – replete with policies to support mining – has helped economic growth of 5% since 2000, and mining accounts for more than half of the currencies of Tanzania. The mining industry has skyrocketed in the country, more and more structures are being considered highly promising there.
Universal Energy Mbamba Bay project, near Lake Nyasa, is a perfect example. 960 km square property is highly prospective for both sandstone hosted uranium deposits and igneous rocks. Airborne radiometric surveys in the 1980s suggested that the granites and gneisses in the target zone are anomalous for uranium, and rocks are an important source of uranium deposit redox style. Detailed mapping and ground radiometric same period indicates a depth of 20m above sandstone and 40m deep stone transition. These are conditions associated with deposits of uranium roll front type.
Exploration results on neighbors, geologically contiguous properties indicate that the area is richly anomalous. The property is in the same structural trend as the tank owned uranium Paladin Resources Kayelekera in Malawi, which has proven resources of more than 25 million pounds of uranium. The work done by Mantra Resources near the boundary Mbamba western tested to 0.68% U in trench and chip samples. Drilling in the area made by International GeoSurvey returned intersections of 0.04% in 11.7m uranium oxide, with the richest intersections with a weight of 0.122% uranium oxide over 1.6 million.
Universal Power has completed a review existing data in the area, and a ground radiometric survey that returned readings up to 3100 cps (counts per second).
Barry Swanson, President of Universal Power Corp said: "We have a technical report from our ground crew there, and I have reviewed the information with our QP [person qualified under the legislation of Canada NI43-101] here. We decided to go ahead and do another job, things look promising so obviously us in this area at this time. "
An initial exploration budget of $ 250,000 has been slated for the next phase of geological mapping detailed sampling, radiometric more land, shallow trenching and RAB (reconnaissance air blast) drilling in 100 holes. Depending results, Universal has outlined a second phase of exploration consists of an additional 50 (deeper) reverse circulation drilling.
Another project in Tanzania, the Mbinga occurrence, is a series of 10 mainly sandstone hosted uranium anomalies and thorium, part of the Karoo valley SE Tanzania. According to Swanson, "The anomalies that we are seeing are not as exciting, and in due time we will do some exploration work there as well in Phase I of the program. I would expect that to be happening in the next 3-4 months. "
Universal Power Corp. has a 90% in its two projects in Tanzania.
Canada
The company has interests closer to home too. 100% ownership of the Bear Lake project, an area of over 45,000 hectares, is shown the two occurrences of uranium and IOCG (iron oxide copper-gold) deposits.
The main focus of exploration for the project of the Big Dipper is a space area of the Great Bear magmatic which has many striking parallels to the structure of Olympic Dam, Roxby Downs in southwest Australia. Both structures display technothermal evolving composition of the host sequence, coexisting magnetite and hematite that are derived from two different hydrothermal fluids, and are on a scale of the crust deep fault. The structure of Olympic Dam has reported a resource of 2.32 million tons of high-grade copper oxide, gold, silver and uranium (1.6% Cu, 0.5 g / t Au, 3.5 g / t Ag, and 0.4 kg / t uranium oxide). Recent increases in production at the mine indicate that the mine has a life of at least 50-100 years.
The area of the Big Dipper has historically been productive. There are three geologically connected historic mining camps on the property – the Radio Port, Lake of contact, and Terra mines – which together produced a total 48 million ounces of silver, 15 million pounds of uranium oxide and 7,000 pounds of copper in the period 1930-85.
The region is attracting the attention of a number of great players. Alberta Star Development Corp. has made significant exploration project contact Lake adjacent to the Great Power Universal Bear property, including extensive drilling. The 2007 exploration season has seen in the area, in Alberta, Star and other companies, in excess of $ 25 million.
"Today there was announcement of Cooper, a neighbor of ours, you have just purchased more land next to us," says Swanson, accelerate the interest in the area. "I hope that this project was warm in the spring as the area becomes a much more active."
Universal is to outline aggressive exploration of the property of the Big Dipper, and believes there is excellent potential for a high-grade polymetallic mineralization in the project. 400 km north of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, the area is easily accessible.
In Ontario, the universal approach in the Project Power Chaos in the Sibley Basin is also based on similarities with a world-class analogue – the area has striking parallels with the Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan, the world largest unconformity uranium deposit.
Universal has an option to earn a 60% interest in the property, consisting of 217 units of demand. The presence of high-grade uranium was confirmed in 2005 by business area Rampart, whose drilling program returned more values of 2.99% U3O8 over 1.5 million. The Sibley Basin, like the Athabasca, is a mid-age sedimentary Proterozoic basin. It is the least explored of all age Helikian sedimentary basins in Canada, and is easily accessible through an extensive network of forest roads.
Administration
A team with experience and expertise focused efforts directed Universal. Barry Swanson, Director and CEO, has over 15 years of investment and experience in the financial sector. The recent addition of Duane Parnham, in a consulting role Directorial reinforces the universal aspect of art. Mr. Parnham also is CEO and director with Forsys Metals Corp, and has a long track record in geological and environmental consulting – which has raised more than $ 100,000,000 Canadians for the last three years. John Poloni has a long career in various mining projects, with 35 years of experience in the sector. Finally, Mike Magrum is responsible for Universal for their efforts of uranium, which has experience in most uranium-bearing Proterozoic basins across Canada.
Perspective
Other projects on the horizon of Universal Energy Corporation well. "We are actively looking at other opportunities, more great – we supply some very good projects, "says Swanson." I'm here to add another project near the end of the year or early next year. "

Why: Government of Canada allows oil drilling in the Arctic?
Please, I know first hand I am not criticizing Canada! But my vegan friend, who is trying to talk me out of visiting Inuvik, Northwest Territories continues to beat the Inuit not to resist the exploitation of oil and natural crystal in the north, and for accepting the construction of the Dempster Highway. On the contrary, my friend claims vegan Peruvian natives protest strongly exploitation of their oil and resources, which was a headline this week. In average terms are not my words, my friend said "REAL natives do not allow governments' violation of the land of oil. "" Can anyone make a case for the Inuit and why the construction of oil Territories Northwest and natural gas projects was not the same as what is happening in Peru?
Your friend obviously does not know much about the oil industry and gas. It is not painfully harmful to the environment from oil and gas drilling. Have you ever seen a gas well? They are usually int he middle of fields …. the only things that farmers are increasingly complaining access roads interfere with their crops (access roads are not great either, I drive in my job Tacoma almost do not fit in some of them after farmers reach them). Half of the farmers to access roads anyway. The point is … Drilling is not bad the environment while, offering a product that can emit greenhouse gases when it is processed and consumed. The actual drilling is not so bad. Now the sands tar are different …. full story but in the North that we are not talking about the tar sands … we are only talking about drilling. So I recommend that your friend learn a thing or two about the oil business and not just repeat what you hear rich university students with nothing else to do, but intended to be earth friendly and all the endearing (if they live in a country that consumes 25% of the total supply of processed oil in the ground).
