I am looking for good travel jacket and rain shell … (Female)?

I went to REI last night looking for a power outage was good that the wind-resistant water to carry on a trip to Japan in May. After looking around a bit I decided it was probably best to get a rain shell and a light jacket The store was closing and I wonder if I made the right choice. I have a Marmot Phoenix Rain Jacket precipitation and a lightweight North Face Flight Jacket Series (Do not know the name) to wear underneath. The North Face Jacket has thumb hooks so you can easily slip on a shell (or pretend to be ninja !)… I will seek name of it when I get home and put it in the discussions.
