Hydration – The Most Important Part Of Dieting
Hydration is a very prominent part of dieting for a body building program. If a diet includes all other nutrients and omits water, there will eventually be a problem and gains will be delimited. Think of water as the solvent in which all other nutrients are soaked as they are transported to the muscle sites they are needed. The good thing about water is that you can never take too much of it. It is recommended that you drink at least eight to ten glasses daily, but for a body builder, especially those ingested high volume of calories, it is important that you drink much more than this. Actually, an overdose of it.
The human body constitutes 60 percent of water at all times of good health. It is so important that you maintain this level at that and if you can increase it. There are only benefits of overdosing the body with water and no delimiting consequences. Water is such a key element to the functioning of your body, that its absence makes the body go into a nightmare.
During the day, and even at night, a body builder looses lots and lots of water to bodily processes of excretion such as sweating and urination, that if not replaced, the body will dehydrate very fast. Once there is an instance of dehydration, the blood becomes thick and slow in movement, slowing down metabolism and hindering efficient transportation of nutrients to various muscles. On of the key symptoms of a dehydrated body is the onset of general muscle exhaustion even before the workout. That gets very severe if remedial action is not taken.
Replenishing lost volumes of water is therefore a very important component of body building dieting. In this, the coffee, the juice and other liquids will count but the most important type of hydration is plain water. For one, drinking soft drinks and beverages come with it the refined sugars and other toxics not recommended for a body builders diet, especially in large volumes. A caution in hydrating the body using concentrated sugars is that most are diuretics and although they may quench the thirst, they end up dehydrating the body even further. Coffee for instance, drains the body’s water resources rather that add on it.
It is the plain water that better satisfies the hydration needs, without inducing additional excesses in elements. That is actually the preciousness of water, it is totally neutral and no matter how much of it you drink, there are no nutritional or caloric calculations necessary. Whenever you think of drinking water, think of it as just water and nothing added on it.
However, if the water becomes a bore, glass after glass, like it is likely to be, you can make the water drinking habit even additionally beneficial, by maybe adding some proteins on it, some milk for instance. Natural fruit juices, not the ones you buy in processed packs, can also be diluted with lots of water and the gross intake will therefore rise. Whatever you do, remember that an overdose of water is ideal.
