from experience the m-4 is the most common used in iraq. due to its superiority over the m-16 in urban areas and building clearing. a lot of support troop still use the m-16s though. the m-4 is a carbine which means its a smaller version of another rifle being the m-16.theyre very different though.yes they fire the same round and look the same but dont let that fool you.the m-4 is 33 inches long with the butt stock fully open and 29.75 inches fully closed there are four different settings for the butt stock though. it weighs 7.5lbs with sling and 30 round mag. max range 3600m point target 500 area target 600. at a cyclis rate of fire it can fire 700-900 rounds per minute thats full out. the m-16 is a little different than that but i think i wrote enough
