Hikers Campers
Where are the hiking / camping in Connecticut?

Hi all, I enjoy hiking and camping and have been in many different areas, including different parts of the Catskills and the green mountains of Vermont. My plan is to hike / camp in the Adirondacks that I am thinking about sometime this summer time, but all these trips have required that I go to my great home state of Connecticut. My question is if there is a good camping / hiking spots in Connecticut. By this I remote desert that marked trails that are densely populated by other hikers and campers. When I go on these trips my goal is to be away from civilization and people and just take in the surroundings and enjoy the outdoors in peace. Does anyone know of any place in Connecticut that can offer this? If so, then where? Where is the head of track? Thanks in advance for your help! Christian

bag the best camping in Connecticut is along the Appalachian trial. the stretch of Route 4 to the north line of the Mass is at a distance and chalanging. If you go during the week of quiet and uncrowed. RT4 southern section of the line gets a big NY number of local day hikers walking the dog, but I feel very SUBAN easy and most beautiful side of the river and ridge walk. hope that helps.
