Heritage Black

Heritage Black
Is it possible to be of mostly English Heritage and have jet black hair?

I have always wondered my mother’s ancestry. She passed away not too long ago. She had naturally jet black hair and she was of mostly all English heritage. Is it possible to be of mostly English Heritage and have jet black hair?

It’s absolutely possible. First of all, “mostly” means that there could be some french, roman, or other ancestry that brought darker hair genes which could easily have remained dominant to this day. Second, darker hair genes could have simply mutated on their own from lighter ones. Of course, there’s no reason to suppose that no member of any “english race” would possess dark hair themselves; the stereotypical image of the redhead with freckles is actually the minority.
