85L pack is a good size?

I am a woman, 5 '5 "with torso''17. Currently I have a Gregory Jade 50 and took him New Zealand, while studying abroad. I can possibly fit my computer on Jade 50 for my next trip, but the weight of the load capacity that worries me. I tend to pack densely without using a lot of volume but not overpack. I was going on a field trip 6 weeks research in Central America (under hot, humid and cold) and also join the Peace Corps in the fall (2 years in Africa), I want to use my package as a bundle of luggage or backpack. My advisor 75L research recommends, but I imagine it could get a very large packet to have two options with my packages. I'm thinking of Osprey Xenon 85 and the Gregory Deva 85. But none of the outdoor stores in my area to try to bring both in and compare. What do you think about the size? And anyone know about the Xenon vs Deva? PS Sorry for details experience! I just really need to consider whether it should spend the money.

That's a big package and a great brand, if you must choose I know you should be happy with it. However, a large package that will have a tendency to pack more and more until things reach a point of no return which means it will not be able to lift and carry it back over long distances.
