what do i need when taking my 24 month old daughter camping?

going camping in the lake district, very muddy and rainy, and things so she can join in with hiking, cycling, swimming etc

i took my 12 month old camping, this is what i took:

*for sleeping we brought a travel cot and a little babies Sleeping Bag, we also packed extra blankets just incase the babies sleeping bag wasn’t warm enough, and if your baby sleeps in another room/tent i suggest you buy battery-powered baby monitors
*for eating we brought a little folding travel high chair and plastic cutlery/plates so they wouldn’t brake
*we also brought a pack n play which is a travel play pen as we didn’t want our baby walking off
*we went where it was very muddy and rainy too, see got loads of baby camping clothing from http://www.hikebikeandride.com as they do waterproof jjacketsand trousers, fleeces, snow hats, gloves etc for 0-36 month olds
*we brought a little bathtub for her to wash in
*if you want your daughter included in hiking you can buy baby carriers, if you want her included in swimming you can buy huggies swimming nappies and get some baby armbands and a baby inflatable pool seat, and for cycling you can buy a baby seat what goes on the back of your bike or a trailer what your child sits in
*and of course the normal stuff like foods, nappies etc

Hiking and Cycling Excursions in Beijing

Beijing is a city of amazing contrasts – an ancient capital with incredible historical sites, and a bustling modern metropolis. Riding your bike to Tiananmen Square , Forbidden City, the Temple of heaven and hiking the Great Wall, you may see not only the ancient spots but also get more ideas of local people’s daily life.
 
Cycling in “Hutong” is a very good opportunity for you to have a real understanding of the local people life. “Hutong” is an area of narrow lanes and traditional homes typical of early Beijing-shuttling between the beautiful Rear lake and traditional quadrangle. They all look same but full of life: children playing around, old men gather around playing cards, and the local bicyclists traveling through. It is now become an informal symbol of the city.

Challenging the Great Wall and experiencing the grandness of one of the Seven Wonders in the World is the one of the most reasons for visiting Beijing. The Great Wall has 6 sections in Beijing altogether. There are Badaling, Juyongguan, Mutianyu, Simatai, Jinshanling and Huanghuachen Great Wall. Each sections is so beautiful and has fabulous scenery.

Badaling Great Wall

It is one of the best preserved sections and the highest point of the Great Wall. Here, the wall averages 7.8 meters high, 6.5 meters wide of the base, and 5.8 meters at the top. There are two entrances to climb the Badaling Great Wall, most people, however, climb the Great Wall from the right entrance because it is much easier. The wall on the left is a little more steep, naturally, less people climb the wall from this side. No matter which choice you will make, you will get splendid mountain scenery on the top of it.
 
Juyongguan Great Wall

Juyongguan is site of an ancient military town which is replete with military installations, watch towers, official residences, temples, a Confucian school and other structures. The present Pass was initially built in the Ming Dynasty and received much renovation later. It is a very important strategic place connecting the inner land and the area near the northern border of China. The Juyongguan Pass has been known for its strategic importance for more than 2,000 years. Visiting the Juyongguan Great Wall, you will take a short but vigorous walk that loops along the mountains on either side of the pass.

Mutianyu Great Wall

First built over 2000 years ago, Mutianyu Great Wall is older, much steeper and more challenging than Badaling Great Wall. The Mutianyu Great Wall has the largest construction scale and best quality among all sections of Great Wall. Taking the ancient path at the side of the steps is certainly a more authentic and satisfying way to appreciate the site. There are fewer people about, for the location is less accessible than Badaling and Juyongguuan. If you are a scenery photographer, you will get as many as “people free” photos.

Simatai Great Wall

Simatai Great Wall is noted for its “Steepness”, “Ingenuity”, and “Uniqueness”. It differs from Great Wall in other areas for naturalness, because it has never been repaired. The 600-year-old Simatai Great Wall is largely in its original state and gives it an air of authenticity, which has earned it the reputation as a fabulous section of the Great Wall. It is 5.4km in length with 35 watchtowers in all. The watchtowers on the Simatai Great Wall exhibit a refined design and various structures.

Jinshanling Great Wall

The Jinshanling Great Wall was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming Dynasty, and in 1567 or 1570 rebuilding of the Wall was mainly directed by General Qi Jiguang. The Wall is about 21 to 24 feet high and 15 to 18 feet wide, which is made of brick and stone. The Jinshanling Great Wall has an elevation of 2100 feet. This part of your trek is one of the most beautiful sections of the Great Wall. The distance of around is 5 miles, covering 32 watchtowers over old brick-made steps.There are sections of renovated and original wall with fantastic viewpoints.
 
Huanghuacheng Great Wall

This part of the Great Wall is probably one of the most difficult sections for hikers. It is completely unreconstructed and runs over a little reservoir. The view as you climb to the top is stunning. Here the Wall is particularly precipitous, so you should expect lots of steps and difficult climbing at some points. Huanghuacheng provides a challenge as it has no stone steps or no single smooth path like the ones found at Badaling and other sections of the Great Wall. The wall is quite steep and the surface is very slippery with many loose bricks. The walkway is mainly overgrown with trees making this a rough Great Wall experience.
