What’s the most effective way to clean the water reservoir from a Camelbak Hiking Pack?

I want to use something that I already have in my house. . . should I use a bleach sol’n or vinegar? I haven’t used it in over a year and I don’t think I cleaned and dried it very well the last time I used it (I see little mildew or something). Also what’s the best way to clean/flush the tube portion???

i had the same problem. just pour in some diluted bleach and let it sit for a few minutes. then dump the bleach and rinse with water several times. let the bleach solution go through the tube by pinching it and letting it flow out. even the slow flow cleans it well.

Use of hydration backpacks and Operational Team

Handsfree is an important quality for many pieces of equipment and operational tactics used by the military. A piece of operational equipment is hands-free hydration system. Developed over 20 years by the manufacturer Camelbak Hydration system – or packages – was originally used for outdoor activities such as biking, kayaking, or hiking. Currently, many packages have been developed by CamelBak and other manufacturers to meet the specific needs of the military.

The system uses a typical hydration backpack or Fanny Pack design. A reservoir or "bladder" of rubber or flexible plastic occupies the greater part of the design and component that is usually maintained between 1.5 and three liters. The dam has a mouth covered, which is used to fill the tank with liquid and connected a hose. The end of the hose closest to the user is equipped with a bite that value allows the user to open the hose and the access of liquid in the tank. This part may be protected by a dust cover.

Water within a System Hydration may be necessary to cool or freeze in the points. Some Hydration Packs designed for athletes and soldiers are insulated keep the water inside the freeze or become hot – which is necessary for the user.

Hydration packs in a military context are used by soldiers in the field, vehicles, and airframes. Due to this specific need, the military depots are designed to accommodate hydration.

The attachment mechanism is different when a hydration pack is used as operational equipment . The package is designed to attach to body armor or a larger tactical pack in these cases. More specifically, one will attach to the back of a license plate bracket IOTV, MTV, o. The Shoulder Straps are not needed and the package does not move or influence from side to side when connected bulletproof vests.
