What am I going to do with all these flipping conkers?
I’ll keep it brief: a friend of my wife’s asked if our son (4) would like a bag of conkers (horse chestnuts), as he garden had had a bumper crop. Deciding that they’d be a diverting toy, we gratefully accepted, expecting perhaps a dozen or so.
I am now the confused owner of about six kilos of horse chestnuts. My son is delighted, but only needs about half a dozen. I can always toss the rest into the recycling but, before I do that, I wondered if anyone had any bright ideas on other alternatives.
Oh, and before you suggest it, I am fully aware of the game of conkers and certainly play to introduce said son to the game. But even that won’t get me through the whole six kilos!
Spider-baiting suggestions are very welcome, but if they could include suggestions on how to prevent my younger son (1) from eating them, these would be gratefully received.
Put them in the corners of your house, [hidden!] as they keep spiders away as they dont like the smell. i thought it was a load of old tosh till i tried it. Perfect! not a spider in sight!
