I have to do a report for school about the Myall Creek slaughter (at 12 white Australians killed a group black Australians in 1838). I have covered all aspects that are required to report, but I can not find a reason for the cause of the slaughter. I've looked at many websites, but I can not find anything. Any help would be appreciated

The Myall Creek slaughter occurred for several reasons. 1) People who commit crime after of his trial admitted that he knew it was illegal to kill native peoples. 2) The people involved in the slaughter had been exposed to many Aboriginal killings cases they were hardened in their own feelings and thoughts about Aboriginal people. 3) Australia's Aboriginal peoples were discriminated against sytemically so that were not even recognized as human beings by law. They do not have to be paid for the work, they could not vote (until 1960), and non-Christians they were not legal members of the community, since he could not testify, because it could not be sworn in. with a link to the European lifestyle Aborigines were almost universally regarded as a nuisance at best, as less than beasts of the field and at worst as a kind of evil that had to be removed from the face of the earth. Basically could say that the Myall Creek slaughter happened because society allowed it to happen, but wanted it to happen. There were similar massacres throughout Australia. Some with deaths occurring much more, some less deaths. Nothing can explain everything. Are you interested research the battle of Slaughter Mountain in the far north Queensland, where many (about 200) Kalkadoons were sacrificed. Or the line in Black from Tasmania who sacrificed more than 4,000 aborigines. Hope this helps!
