Boiling chicken or meat turns it black – stainless steel pan …?

When I boil either chicken, salt meat, or stewing beef, the water turns the meat black even though I am using stainless steel pots. I have a well dug which goes down 25 feet into the ground with 3 or 4 underground springs running into it and am not using any chlorine. There are no homes closer to me than 1/4 mile or so. The water comes straight from that well into my house.

If I were you, I’d have my water evaluated…Most large universities will do this for little or no money…The only thing I can think of is maybe an excessive amount of iron…But you’d know this because you’d see the reddish tint in the water..
