White bought the Aspire One Netbook (8.9 ???? 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270, 512MB RAM, 8 GB hard drive), on 8 September to be used only when traveling – so you’ve probably used a total of 120 hours or so for the past 18 months. I liked it – it’s easy and fast shoes, although I know nothing about Linux, I was happy with him. However, several weeks before using it, and found that the first battery was completely dead. Well, it’s ok I can buy another battery. But I also have a / Sun Starburst bar form (new position) that prevents me connecting wired and wireless. I googled and found other users with similar problem without a solution. After extensive research I finally Acer contacted via e-mail about this issue, the answer is returned warranty has expired and you try to restore the system to original factory settings or contact your evil (paying) for help. I have not received the recovery disc with the original purchase (product shipped from Amazon, not third parties), so I think Acer just trying to make you pay more. Since I had great care of your computer and have just “gentlely” is dubious transactions, and consumers interested in the Acer.
This is the first and only time you have a product from Acer.

Sudden Death

As others have reported. Got 3-4 hours use per week for about 8 months, then no electrical activity whatsoever. Did not get exposed to voltage spike (was unplugged). Not worth fixing, now a paperweight.

Better than expected

I bought this computer primarily to use at school for taking notes and writing papers, but I have been using it for pretty much everything since I got it. It’s faster than I expected (faster than my expensive Piece of C*** HP tablet), but then one of the first things I did when I bought this computer was delete all the unnecessary bloatware. It’s light enough that when I drop it in my backpack I don’t really notice it, and the battery lasts a good 5 hours, sometimes more, which is astonishing since it’s adveritised as good for 2.5. The keyboard was a little strange at first, but now that I’m used to it, my typing has become much faster and more accurate on it’s smaller keys. I bought the copper brown, which is a nice, understated but interesting brown (it’s almost the color of cola, or coffee with a sheen). My only real complaint is that the speakers are underneath the front bottom edge of the computer, so if you are using it as a laptop the sound is muffled. Oh, and also the screen has a fairly large plastic border… I’m sure there’s some mechanical reason for that, but other computers this size have smaller borders with larger screens, and thus are the same total size. I mean, I bought the 8.9 because I wanted a smaller computer, not a smaller screen.

All in all this is a great little computer. Fits perfectly on those tiny college desks with room to spare, hasn’t crashed once in the month I’ve had it, and it’s faster by virtue of XP rather than Vista (I imagine it’ll be even faster once I dump XP entirely and load up Linux). Another interesting note, I was sitting near a girl with a new Eee PC a couple days ago, and we started up at the same time. By the time hers was loaded and ready, I was already knee deep in note-taking and had three other programs open and running. Why, why Acer, did you have to discontinue this terrific little laptop?? Even my SO, who’s a bloodthirsty Mac user, likes this computer.

Acer makes the worst laptops

I have had this for a while now, so i really know the scoop:
here is my story:
After about 2 days, the computer kept shuting off randomly
After a week my fan was making rediculously loud sounds, so i had to send it back which acer made ME pay for return shipping
after a few months i was getting blue screens, and random freezing (after about 5 minutes of use)

ACER=crap

30 days not enough

I bought this item in Septmeber, today is Christmas, and it just broke, no refund no nothing.

grace many product funciondo me well so far and I can not complain the shipping was fast

I loved it……………….. until

I ordered this 10/15/2008.. got it loved it…. then just two weeks ago the web cam crashed.. I followed instructions on Acer’s website to no avail, the website KNEW the situation required service … SOOOO I called tech support and I was told “Sorry” you net book went out of of warranty on 10/7/2009!? (I ordered it 10/15/2008). If you want to send it in for repair it will call $200.00 !”

I was floored.. and saddened, as the webcam broke just before I had it for a year, I was out of town on a business trip and called them when I got home. I guess this is the first and last ACER I buy.

It has worked okay on my road trips other then on occasion the wireless fails and I have to reboot. Now the webcam needs service… makes it hard to skype my family when I travel.. This really sucks….

What is the point gems like ruby, sapphire .. etc. Dragon Age: Origins?

I have a lot of them and I have plenty of room in my leftt bag … I would buy a backpack for extra space, but I just do not have the funds to do it! Is there any significance with the gems? such as development and all that? if not, I'm just going to sell them .. : (

Go to the website and download / install the mod and theme that gives a larger backpack. As for what good they are … I do not know yet. I have not advanced past bloody ogre at the top of the tower yet! I'll try to take direct control over tactical (Self / move / order / move / etc.) Maybe I can keep my character and NPCs alive long enough to complete the task of lighting the fire, good luck!
