what is the best brand backpack to take for a years travel?

I want something with vertical access, no more than 70 litres, and one that offers some comfort. I hear Osprey is great, but unfortunately you can’t seem to get them in the UK. Please advise!

I’ve used both Karrimor and Berghaus on my backpacking trips and both packs have been great. Both are top-opening with side pockets. One 65 litres – the other 70.

The final thing that killed my Karrimor was when a rat ate through the bottom when I was sleeping in a beach hut in Malaysia!!
