duck potato issue need big help here!?

My husband and I were walking along the beach one day and found some bulbs tuberous lying on the shore. I took it home and have water immediately. With a lot of surfing the web, I realized that they are potatoes duck / arrowhead plants. I live in Minnesota and I really want to spend the winter in these plants, even bringing them home if I have to. Can they survive? What is the best way to do this? Each and every help is appreciated!
